New Shows Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Two new shows are coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the month of May.
On May 27, The Little Mermaid debuts in Animation Courtyard, after being closed since the COVID-19 pandemic. The revamped show will include “stunning set pieces and cutting-edge effects that capture Ariel’s imagination and emotions.”

If I may say so, this is welcome news and it’s great to have another attraction in DHS, a park which sometimes feels like it suffers from a lack of quality attractions. Plus it gives a reason to go into Animation Courtyard beyond Disney Jr. Dance Party or meeting Chewbacca.

Also debuting May 27 is Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After

According to the Disney website, guests will “enter the real of the Magic Mirror- where dozens of villains are trapped!” The question is, which villain has been treated the most unfairly.

Villains presenting their case include Captain Hook, Maleficent, and Cruella de Vil. It’s billed as a “spellbinding show with moving music and a most memorable finale.”

Disney Villains is in the Sunset Boulevard area. It booted out the Cars attraction, “Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy.”
